There are currently no verifiable studies for all rodents and guinea pigs that prove any damage.
e.g.: On the contrary, there is more and more evidence (including studies) that they are harmless, especially for guinea pigs, and are even preferred.

For rabbits, we strongly recommend using a water bowl, as recent studies suggest that this could harm the animals.
